Exhibition and Auction

DENMARK PHOTO COMPETION, EXHIBITON AND CHARITY AUCTION

The annual Denmark Community Resource Centre Photo Exhibition and Silent Action was held in the Denmark Civic Centre on the 25th Sept and sponsored by Heathway as part of the ‘Act Belong Commit’ initiative.

Approximately one hundred people attended the afternoon exhibition of photographs exploring the theme “What connects you to Denmark?” the inspiration from 54 entrants from all age groups.

Judging was kindly done by professional, local photographer Nic Duncan and the ABC Open coordinator for Albany and the South Coast, Suzannah Lyons.

  • 1st prize of $500 kindly donated by the Denmark Shire went to Lily Isaksen
  • 2nd Place was donated by the Denmark Chamber of Commerce went to Claire Jacobs
  • 3rd place was kindly donated by the Denmark Visitors Centre went to Dawn Barrington
  • The People’s Choice Award  provided by Denmark Arts of $150 went to Asha Martin

 

A silent auction for the 26 framed prints was held during the exhibition. 17 of the 26 prints were sold on the day raising nearly $1800 for the Denmark Community Collective, a local charity that assists those in need in the Denmark Community.

The Denmark CRC would like to thank everyone who worked and helped with the project including those who attended the event.
